How to use essential oils in shower?

Today I purchased essential oil that is supposed to uplift and energize me. I'd love to be able to use it in the morning in my shower, but I don't know how. I've read that I can rub some on the walls in the shower, or drop it into my shower poof. What should I do for the most effective result? I want my shower to smell like the oil to really waken me. Thank you!
